Underneath the Cyanide Sun....
#1New Post! May 19, 2012 @ 12:43:23
I saw it last night (seemed fitting since I'm expecting lol) and I looooved it. I got teary-eyed at the end.

It's definitely a chick flick though, although there were guys in the audience and they laughed quite a bit though. It's got some things for dad, definitely.

Plot:
"The story follows five couples in the Atlanta area who "suffer the many joys of the childbirth process"

"The movie "What to Expect When You're Expecting" is based on the best-selling book of the same name. And just like the self-help guide, this film is here to give a little blunt criticism on childbirth.

Take, for example, what Elizabeth Banks' character says in the first trailer: "Pregnancy sucks. Making a human being is really hard."

In the newest poster for the film, that honesty comes full circle. Here, the tagline states -- in not so sly terms -- "It's too late to pull out now." (Yikes!)

"What to Expect" follows five couples who are preparing for the best and worst of having a baby. The ensemble cast includes Banks, Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Anna Kendrick, Matthew Morrison, Brooklyn Decker, Dennis Quaid, Chris Rock and many more."

Reading the reviews right now.... don't listen to them lol.
They're giving the Dictator better reviews (which I really can't understand!)

Not a statement about the film itself, because it doesn't look bad, but did Hollywood really need to talk an educational book and make a movie out of it? Couldn't they have just come up with a movie about pregnancy on their own?

All it really shares is the title. The book (which I have) is all about guiding you through week by week in pregnancy, the stages of labor and delivery, and the first few weeks of baby's life.
The movie is how 5 couples prepare for parenthood and their issues.

That's why I don't understand it being "based" on the book. It's like they're just tying it in to get people who like the book to see the movie.

Hollywood's weird.

I've seen the previews, but have no interest in watching it.

The last time I watched a movie with that many well known celebs in it, the movie SUCKED! The movie was "Valentine's Day" ...time I can't get back.
