True but back then, it was important for family to sit down to meal together an I find no one really does that anymore. And even with only one parent working, usually mom being home, back then mom had to hand wash clothes, pluck the chicken herself too for the family meal. There was not a lot of convience for mom back in the day and chores took longer so really maybe more work for mom back then as we have things to make all our chores faster.

Right, it's another casualty of the two-parent working household. Not an excuse, certainly, but it tends to happen with a lot of families.

"Pictures" - do you mean a theatre or a drive in? I miss the old drive in I must admit... and for the record, I am actually younger than my profile indicates... ya old bugger

Theater, yes and also the drive-in was good Ahhhh, how I remember those warm nights going to the drive in,under the pretext of seeing a movie and playing Tonsil Hockey and Stink Finger with some young lady instead they were good times .

And that's MR old Bugger to you

There is still a drive-in here. I LOVE IT! I get to share the drive-in experience with my kids as my parents did with my sister and I.

Pack the kids up in their PJ's, pillows and blankets, pack our snacks and drinks and enjoy a movie together, outdoors.

i think laziness and lack of activity is only part of the problem, i think majority of the issue is hormones on our foods and that most if not all processed foods have some form of added sugar in them.

Good for us food that which is not processed and does not have added sugars is expensive and in some areas not available, especially in parts of the US. In Canada its cheaper to buy a fast food meal then it is to buy a proper meal and cook it yourself from the shops.

But as i said, they are proving now how the additives and hormones that are now in our foods and water has changed our DNA and one of those side effects is the fat arse syndrome.
