Because he is a master communicator, humble yet strong, has the gift of wisdom, can be president and still be a Diplomat.

Brought the world back from the brink of the George W. Bush depression.

Is mending the broken U.S. economy despite Republican foot dragging.
( A rising tide lifts all yachts )

Brought us universal health care.

Is trying to establish fair tax rates for the middle class.
( The poor workers who pay the freight for the tax coffers )...
( The very very poor pay no taxes to speak of )

And, last but not least.

His likely opponent is one of the one percent'rs ( 1% )
( Who's looking out for you? Huh? )
p.s. Hew waited for his turn. His turn? Turns me off.

Unless a miracle happens I doubt he will be remembered as one of the greatest. Maybe one of the better Presidents.

W. Bush beyond a doubt was one of the worst Presidents in history if not thee worst.

Prove Bush caused the recession (that's recession, not depression, by the way), and Obama reversed it. Good luck trying though. President's have very little control over what the economy does. You have a better chance blaming and praising Congress, and even then you'll have a hard time proving it.

He didn't bring us universal health care. He just made it mandatory for us to purchase it.

The voters realized over the years they have made a devastating mistake in voting this dude and his regime into power.

How is it that Ronald Reagan is considered the greatest president by certain people?

Honestly, screw history. In fifty years, the presidents that are considered the best won't be decided by what he did or didn't do. It'll be because of what happened in the world at the time. There's a reason history classes gloss over Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, John Adams, James Garfield, etc., not even saying if they did a good job or not. It's the same reason they focus on Ronald Reagan, FDR, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington - because of what was happening in the world at the time. Washington built this country after the American Revolution, so we need to talk about him. It's not like John Adams had anything to do after all the hard work Washington did. Carter just had a gas shortage, big whoop; Reagan had the Cold War.

History remembers what it wants to remember. In twenty years, history classes will probably talk about how great George W. Bush was simply because 9/11 happened while he was in office and the country didn't implode. Who cares about all the rest? After all, it's not like we remember JFK because he was the best president that had ever been and will ever be. We remember him because of the Bay of Pigs and because he got shot. That's it.

Who would you rank at the top and bottom and why?

I couldn't honestly rank them because I don't know about a lot of them. Even if I know some things about them (like how Woodrow Wilson was a racist), I don't know about the atmosphere of the country at the time. That's the biggest problem when attempting to judge past presidents, how the country was doing before they came into office. For example, when Obama was elected, things weren't doing so well, but will he be remembered as the president that got a crappy start or the one that messed things up?

Washington certainly did some things right, Lincoln did some monumental things that are important, and FDR did a completely amazing job, but that doesn't mean that all the other presidents sucked. Often, we remember (or are only taught) one or two things about them. Taft was so fat that he got stuck in a bathtub, Truman dropped the bomb on Japan, Andrew Jackson forced the Native Americans onto the Trail of Tears, Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer, Reagan wanted a Star Wars-esque laser, and in the future, we'll probably only know that Bush got us through 9/11. There's a good chance Obama will be remembered simply as the first (and perhaps only, for many years) black president.

We can judge the presidents we live through. I can remember that my family was doing well when Clinton was in office and that there weren't any major situations (outside of the sex debacle). I remember that when Dubya was in office, my family had a horrible time, and there were all sorts of protests concerning war. But all I know about Bush Sr. is that he said, "Read my lips, no new taxes," and then made some new taxes. (And that he got beat up by Homer Simpson.)

Why judge the presidents? James Monroe could have done everything right but never been noticed for it because the country was peaceful and running well at the time. Who knows? That sort of stuff is just something ordinary citizens will never know or care about.

That's a very good point, especially when you consider Presidents seem to get praised and blamed for things they clearly had no control over in the 1st place.

All he has to do is promise everyone more s*** he can't deliver and the ghettos, barrios, cemeteries and brainless libs will vote him in, totally forgetting he didn't do s*** the first term.

Seems to work for every other president.

All that changes is the demographic that votes for the person.

It prolly would have been a depression if not for Obama's quick actions.

Here's the difference- keep in mind the Great Recession was second to the Great Depression in severity.
