I'm aware I've done a similar thread before but I couldn't be bothered to try and find it.

Anyway, anyone got any good tips on how to motivate themselves or make themselves focus?

Coffee! That's why I've spent the entire day revising and not watching TV with my flatmates...wait.

No idea tbh, unless you have to do something fairly immediately it can be difficult.

Start every day with prayer and exercise. Running and swimming are great for the mornings - they motivate your mind and body for the rest of the day.

Yeah I don't do prayer or exercise. If it works for you then great, but not for me.

Yeah I have playlists that help once I've started working, it's just the initial effort that it can't help with I find.

My mom always taught me the "Force it for 15 minutes" technique.
If there's something you have to do but can't get motivated for, just start doing it and go into it with the mindset that you will only do it for 15 minutes.
Get to it.
A lot of the time, you're making so much progress you keep going or you forget all about 15 minutes and you're so wrapped up in what you're doing that you look up and realize you've been at it for an hour.

Yes. I have no faith and don't like going outside to exercise or paying to go anywhere like a gym/swimming pool.

I love that advice. It can go for exercise, housework, anything really. Smart mom you got there.

That's a good idea actually, makes it seem less daunting.

Hey, what about a DVD? Zumba is soooo much fun! You can do that indoors and actually enjoy it. Get your groove on for the rest of the day.

I don't 'do' dancing unless I've had a lot to drink. Not bothered about physical movement, just cognitive.

That's a good tip for people who are into exercise and the such though.
