| Kristy69 Carly's Mommy ![]() Underneath the Cyanide Sun.... | #1 Since I've been pregnant, my face has been REALLY REALLY dry. Like peeling and flaky. It's horrible. I don't use foundations or any make up like that (except for concealer). I put lotion on my face several times a day, I wash my face in the morning with a black head scrub. I also remove my makeup after work with makeup remover cloths to let my face breathe. Idk what else to do! Any tips? | ||||||

| davii I'm Awesome Deleted ![]() London, United Kingdom | #2 I'd go easy on using the scrub on a daily basis, if that's what you meant. As far as I can remember, it's a misconception that skin "breathes". You could perhaps use being pregnant as a cover for not wearing any make-up, in the sense that if anyone considers you to not be looking your best, they would put it down to being pregnant and not a lack of make-up? Then you'd be able to spend a good amount of time with a facial routine that doesn't involve applying and later removing make-up | ||||||

sister_of_mercy![]() London, United Kingdom | #3 I'd just suggest drinking lots of water/green tea and using a moisturiser that has rose oil in it as that seems to help with dry skin (my grandmother swore by primrose oil). Don't go overboard on the scrubbing either.

It would take some major getting used to for me. I don't even let my family see me without makeup (except my mom). ![]() I'll try not to scrub my face as much, maybe I'll go down to every other day. A lot of the facial treatments I used to use used to make my face feel tight after I used them so I think it was doing the opposite of what it said it would do (moisturize). @sister_of_mercy Said ![]() I'd just suggest drinking lots of water/green tea and using a moisturiser that has rose oil in it as that seems to help with dry skin (my grandmother swore by primrose oil). sister_of_mercy![]() London, United Kingdom | #7 If you look at the lotions that are specifically for dry skin you'll often find some kind of oil like that in the ingredients, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Also, I heard that Lush have US stores now so I'd definitely try and have a look at them. They're great when it comes to advice about skin types and their stuff is both animal friendly and fairly cheap.

I'll try to find that but I've never heard of it. That's why I was thinking that doing so while pregnant might give you a few excuses to hide behind for the lack of make-up. No doubt easier said than done - I don't know many women that can go outside without some make-up on. I'm supposed to keep up a moisturiser regime, due to psoriasis (sp?), but being male, I'm useless...

loverbrybry![]() Port-of-spain, Trinidad and To | #10 Fish Oil. There's nothing like it. Helps skin, nails, heart, brain, I've been taking it for years and I look ten or more years younger than I am. I'm 62 this December.

| sTreetAngeL root tedt ree ![]() in a paradox, | #11 I'd wash with something like Noxema, or cold cream. And NEVER use lotion that is meant for the body on the face; especially if you have sensitive skin. Instead use desired amount of Vitamin E oil. You can buy it in any drug store. Cost only a few dollars, and it's amazing. Don't forget to dab under eyes too. - A good habit to continue through life. | ||||||

I haven't had the chance to get back there, but there are so many things that I want to try.

They do an amazing chocolate cupcake face mask that helped get rid of my spots a while ago, hard not to eat it though ![]()

| magically_delicious since 1985. ![]() , California | #14 I use this. Bobby Brown Hydrating Face Cream It's pretty amazing. I know it's expensive, but a jar lasts me a year so I think that makes the expense worth it. You should also get a hydrating face mask and put that on at night for about 20 minutes, and then use a night-time face serum. Get away from over the counter crap, if you are using a blackhead scrub I'm assuming it has benzole peroxide or some sort of chemical, that is not helpful! e-how has a bunch of recipes for face masks, making your own is always cheaper. | ||||||

| DiscordTiger The Queen of Random ![]() Emerald City, United States (g | #15 Oh if you can get to lush, use the "skindrink" moisturizer on your face, it really helps with the dry skin to the point of flakes. The lotion that you might be using might have something in it that is drying you out, counteracting the moisturizing so, it might be part of the problem. Like other people said the black head scrub might have become too harsh for you, making the problem worse. | |||||||
