Bathroom water

A coworker tried telling me that the water that comes out of the sink and shower in the bathroom is recycled (unused) toilet water which is why you should never drink from the faucet.



She's a very paranoid person and she says her brother (a plumber) told her that. She says because of that little fact she brushes her teeth in the kitchen.

So I'm just making sure I'm not thinking she's insane if it's actually true

Maybe someone should check out her brother.

If she only knew where her Kitchen water came she would stop brushing there too.

No. It's not true.

Toilet water is flushed down into the drainage pipes where it links into the main sewer line and goes bye bye.

Water in and water out lines are completely separate.

Your main water line comes in from the street from the utilities company. It branches off to things like kitchen sink faucets, water heaters, toilets, showers. The drainage lines go from each fixture and connect to the main sewer (or septic depending on your system) line.

Her brother is an idiot and I would never, ever, never allow him access to the plumbing in my house.

I'm with DiscordTiger here, it sounds more like a prank than anything else.

I know water has different qualities in different parts of the world. For example, when I lived in San Diego I always bought water from the store because the tap water was close to undrinkable. Here, however, even the water in the toilet would be clean enough to drink if you felt like it and had cleaned the toilet itself

She's confusing Mexico and in the instance of Mexico all water is toilet water sans the luxury of a recycling filtration system.

She's VERYYY gullible, I don't doubt it. It's the same person who wanted me to believe if you don't flush after peeing it'll cause MRSA. She "knows" this because her sister is a nurse.

I don't use the water in the bathroom at all. I just clean the three main parts...teeth, hair, and a*****e.

And to save time and money I use the same brush for all three!
