Five_Tailed_Fox![]() Cottontown, Tennessee | #1 Did anyone watch Comic Book Men? It started with six episodes, airing after The Walking Dead. The series is a reality show focusing on one of the most famous comic book stores in the country, Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash in New Jersey, started partly by Kevin Smith of Silent Bob fame and run by Walt Flanagan, who appeared as the fanboy in a few of Smith's movies who would yell, "Tell 'em, Steve-Dave!" The show features Walt, Bryan (who was actually Steve-Dave from the movies), and employees Ming and Mike. Kevin Smith also appears during scenes where the group is recording a podcast, asking questions about what has been going on at the Stash, though he doesn't work or appear at the Stash itself. I enjoyed the show, though it was sometimes hard to get into it. The show was at its best when the guys were discussing comics and heroes and often at its worst when dealing with customers selling their stuff. It is heartbreaking to see someone get rid of something they really care about for a measly $25, especially if they wanted over $200, and it is infuriating to see someone trying to haggle but doing a horrible job of it. Some of the moments in between were boring, too, making me wish there was more focus on talking about comics and the geekdom of the whole thing. In the end, the show is only for people that like comic books, of course. We don't learn a lot about the employees at the Stash, and there isn't a lot of Kevin Smith action. But if you like comics and want to see people deal with comics and talk about comics, it might be up your alley. | ||||||
