Hubbie and I were watching the news about the twitter incident last night. Truthfully, I've NEVER tweeted or twittered in my life and don't see the need to start. It's become extremely annoying to me to even have to read my Facebook friends' every detail of their thoughts and lives ad nauseum as though others are as interested in their stream of internal conversation as they are.

I think Spike need to "tweet" an apology to these people, or better yet, do it by calling and actually talking to them.

The social media phenom has gotten just over-the-top crazy, IMO.

thank you.

Spinkie instead of derailing this thread, I have posted on the thread I linked to earlier here . About Al Sharpten .

Ok, but how am I "derailing this thread?"

It appears Spike did accidentally send the retweet and he has settled and apologized to the McClains.

It was not an accident. He knowingly and willingly retweeted the alleged address of George Zimmerman. It was a huge mistake on his part but in no way did he write out his tweet and post it by accident.

From the article...

Lee tweeted late Wednesday: "I Deeply Apologize To The McClain Family For Retweeting Their Address. It Was A Mistake. Please Leave The McClain's In Peace."

He even states he made a mistake.

Okay, I see what you mean. And I do agree he should not have gotten involved with that lynch mob, it was just the wrong thing to do.
I was very surprised the accusation was true.

Yeah, I totally understand that people are upset and outraged and rightfully so but to endanger lives with no confirmation that the alleged killer actually lives there, if anyone would have harmed that innocent couple, Mr. Lee would have had their blood on his hands.

I agree, but I'd add Jackson, Sharpton and Obama to that guilty riot rouser list.

That would be the smart thing to do. But too many get emotionally involved, and then work at spreading those feelings.
They succeed much of the time too.

I do not trust nor do I care for Mr. Sharpton. I find he comes out for his own agenda and not for any compassion or justice for the victims. I find he first makes it all about race before any facts or evidence come into play to prove it was about race.

I remember very well when he was after 6 white males, some of whom were police officers, for sexually assaulting a 15 year old black girl. He accused the government of trying to cover it up because the accused were white and some were police officers, he had no proof of that. He even accused a DA of being one of the rapists and a racist.

There was proof that she was not sexually assaulted at all, there was proof that she was not exposed to the elements as she said she was for four days and a host of other medical and documented proof she was lying.

She later recanted the story and there was evidence her parents knew it was all a hoax.

Sharpton was taken to court and was found liable for defamation.

Exactly - and he still hasn't learned. He doesn't want to. There's no difference between him and Jackson and Obama. They alllll have a sick agenda and are creating havoc. As they wish. Makes me sick.

Mr. Z's family is now receiving "thousands" of death threats. His family, all innocent.

Jackson and Co. have done their job. Horrible.

I have never understood, Cinnamon, when people hate the family. I get having hate, anger, resentment etc against the accused or the one found guilty but I do not understand extending that hate to the family, unless they were also involved.
