Yep, I asked that question of a bunch of Australian students when I watched an England v Australia rugby test match in the Walkabout Bar in Shepherd's Bush some years back.

Their reply was not to worry about it. The general opinion of the Aussie lads there was that there are a lot of tossers back home who have never set foot outside Oz and get off on pom bashing just because they think it's clever.

They were a good bunch of lads. We had a good drink, watched a good game, England won (natch) and for some strange reason, that meant I had to buy the drinks...!! I couldn't quite work that one out, but I went along with it. I was, after all, in their bar. Fair one.

Nice try. Poms are so disliked here because of those who come to live here (and dont stop whinging and saying how things are so much better back home) or who visit here. No group of tourists have a worse reputation than the english. Ask anyway who has had to suffer pommy backpackers at places like manly, Bondi or Cairns etc etc etc So their opinion on poms is based on their experience with poms...be it here or overseas.

But you take their money.

Perhaps its' when our sports fans come over and put your lot to shame. The Barmy Army who came over with their "unconditional Support", and showed your lot up in the Ashes series. We outnumber you in your own stadiums, as in the Lions tour of 2001, and the world cup of 2003.

At Brisbane in 2001, Martin Johnson told the Lions team, before the game, to go outside and look at the sea of red in the grandstands. Jason Robinson said to the team "That's it, lads... we're the home team tonight".

You should be grateful.... we've been propping up the Australian economy through tourism, and by emigrating there to give you the skills you need to prosper.

You personally resent that for some reason and are trying to claim then entire country hates us. Well, if that's the case, why not become a republic and cut that flag out of the corner of your own..?

Remind me again, why Australia hasn't done that..?

There you go running off at the mouth yet again. Show me some stats that prove that you outnumbered us at our own grounds. You cant. Making the most noise and being incredibly onoxious doesnt mean you also are in the majority in the crowd. When pakistan or india play england in england it often appears there are more asians than poms in the crowd. By the way, thanks for reminding me of the Lions tour in 2001 which we of course won.

As for proping up the Aussie economy...that is such an incredibly stupid thing to say that it deserves no further reply.

And as for the republic issue. Here you are ust displaying your incredible ignorance of all things to do with Australia. I would suggest that you stick to talking about subjects that you know but that would mean you would be silent. Hmmm, not such a bad idea.

Oh, by the way, i know you poms are so arrogant that you like to think that the union flag is an english flag only it isnt. It is comprised of not just the cross of st.g but also the cross of Saint Andrew (representing the Scots) and the cross of Saint Patrick (representing the Irish). More than happy to have our historical connections with the Scots and Irish recognised on our flag.

Hopefully the day will come when the Scots and Welsh are freed of english rule (which they never voted for) and that Eire is united once again.

Perhaps we can get back to the cricket and talk about ball tampering...

First up let us start in 1992 when pakistan defeated your mob 2-1 in england. your lot couldnt deal with the pakistani swing and so apart from losing the series you also lost alot of standing by accussing the pakistanis of ball tampering even though a court found there was no evidence of such tampering. Nice bit of whinging there i might add.

Now lets look at 1994. Only 2 years after whinging about pakistan your captain was caught rubbing something from his pocket onto the ball which is not legal. He later claimed he only had dirt in his pocket which he used to dry his hands!!! He was found guilty and fined.

oh...and how about January 2010, when england bowlers Stuart Broad and James Anderson were accused of ball tampering by rubbing the ball on the ground with their spikes in the third Test Match against South Africa. Broad maintained that was just being lazy, because it was 40 Celsius in Cape Town that day!!! unreal

More on ball tampering

"Under Law 42, subsection 3 of the Laws of Cricket, the ball may be polished WITHOUT the use of an artificial substance, may be dried with a towel if it is wet, and have mud removed from it under supervision; all other actions which alter the condition of the ball are illegal"

england's own players attributed their Ashes win in 2005 to using sweets to get much greater swing. This use of sweets is illegal under law 42. Though we never complained

During england's tour of India in 1976-77, Lever used hair lotion to swing the cricket ball on the pitches of New Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, where movement is a rarity. This was illegal at the time and remains so.

We could also mention the 2007 jelly bean affair

My word, you are in a heck of a state over this. You should calm down a little before you burst a blood vessel.

Speaking on the flag issue, I never claimed the Union Flag was the English flag, I said it was positioned up there in the corner of your own, rather bland little affair which denotes that your government is happy to retain its ties with the "Old Country" which, in this case, means Great Britain.

Queen Elizabeth II is still your head of State. Yep, she's your queen too, you know, which is why the English fans taunted your lot during the last Ashes series by singing "God save your Queen"..... whilst we whupped your sorry asses on the playing field.

But just because one embittered Okker doesn't like the English, it doesn't mean you're right in everything you say. You're just an angry man, shouting his mouth off and dredging up everything negative about a country he has a pathological dislike of, for no other reason than venting his spleen.

As if Australians have never done anything "unsporting"....

Surely not...? Surely those wonderfully sporting, straight up bonza blokes wouldn't do such a heinous thing, would they..?

They did, you know.

And of course, we all know Australians would never take bribes:

From Mark Waugh's Wikipedia page:

In the build-up to the Third Test in Adelaide, news broke that in 1994–95 Waugh and Shane Warne had accepted money from an Indian bookmaker in exchange for pitch and weather information. The Australian Cricket Board has secretly fined both players for their actions. The ACB's suppression of the case and the actions of the two players were widely condemned

Not only did Waugh take illegal payments, but Shane Warne was also involved... and notonly that, the ACB tried to sweep it all under the carpet.

How shameful is that..?

As I've been saying throughout this thread, when you sling mud, you have to be prepared to take some back, but of course, you won't do that.

From Lillee and Thompson doing the very thing Australians have been bleating about for 80 years, through Trevor Chappel bowling underarm and the taking of bookmakers greasy money to the ACB trying to cover up the truth about wrongdoing, you're in no position to sling mud.

Your pathological racism doesn't become a great game like cricket. Shame on you (If you're capable of feeling shame for anything, that is).

How seriously pathetic are you. The only thing Lillee and Thompo did was bowl very fast and scary you poor little sais witless. They bowled boucers. So what. Boucers had been bowled even before the 1930's and bodyline. Bowling bouncers is fine. Stacking the leg side and just bowling short at the batsman...that's something different altogether.

Trevor did bowl underarm. Not really his fault. The blame lies with his brother whose actions were rightly condemned throughout Australia. Unlike you though i accept that Trevor bolwing underarm (whilst withint he laws of the game) was not within the spirit and was an appalling act. You however always defend the indefensible as you cant accept that your lillywhites could ever do anything wrong.

And finally, Warne and Waugh didn't take any bribes. The cambridge online dictionary defines are bribe as...
"to try to make someone do something for you by giving them money, presents or something else that they want"

All Warne and Waugh did was provide information about the weather and the state of the pitch. Information that was hardly secret and could have been obtained from a whole host of different people.

Still, i'm not suprised that you dont even know what a bribe is.

What else you got?

ps - the last Ashes series is history and so if you are wanting to talk about history maybe we could discuss our 5-0 series win over you the previous time you visited. Yep, 5-0. What a lovely summer that was. Or we could go back to the days of Armstrong and discuss another 5-0 whipping we handed out to your mob. Or there is the small matter of losing 14 of 15 tests tot he windies including 2 successive 5-0 scorelines.

Funny how cocky you are now...wonder where that cocky arrogance was btw 1989-2005...

Too funny for words. You poms have been coming to Australia as you cant get work in your own country. So you come here, we give you jobs and opportunities and all you do in return is whinge...whinge but never leave...like larwood and tony greig. Funny that.
