Cool. I knew you were a teacher. Wasn't sure about the specifics. Male elementary teachers are unusual, but much needed imo. But alas, you went with PE. Was that an availability thing?

No, I actually made a choice to move out of the classroom and into PE. It is a lot more fun, you get to be outdoors playing with the kids, rather than grading papers and dealing with parents, as there is none of that in PE.

I didn't have much of an education beyond high school, where I took only the minimum graduation requirement. However, now I give out samples at Sam's club for $10/ hr, so not a bad short cut. I wish I got more hours though.

Student for now but hoping to become a religious education teacher for a while. Eventually I want to do a law degree and get into the legal field as a barrister.

I will. Thanks. She said it was creepy though so I don't know if she will want to.

I'm a cartoon character. It doesn't pay very well, and I haven't actually worked in the last few years. Just surviving on royalties.

I had to look up barrister. It's not a term commonly referred to here. They are either attorneys or not attorneys in our neck of the woods, unless I am mistaken.

religious education sounds interesting. Are we talking about educating within one religion, or education about various religions?

I am a Paediatric Nurse by trade and training, I have tried a few roles in that area, including general, neurosurgery and research and now settling into school nursing where I think I will stay. I miss the ward and patient relationship but I love the 9-5 and no nights anymore too much!

Chill... I am not having a crack at counselors. It works for some people, great. It doesn't work for everyone. I am not attacking what you do (I didn't even know you were a counselor, I thought you were doing pre-school teaching or something). It's all good...

for the record, telling someone to chill rarely works. It generally incites anger.

just feeling as though you misunderstand counseling as a process and are painting an inaccurate picture. The comment about pulling answers out of a book was about the worst possible thing you could say about counselors in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure a barrister is like being an attorney in a courtroom, yeah.

It would be teaching whatever happens to be on the national curriciulum to be honest It usually covers the 3 main faiths (Christianity, Islam and Judaism) along with some moral theories and citizenship thrown in for good measure.

It's a compulsory class so chances are it will be more of a fight than anything else I remember at my school we got through 4 RE teachers in a year as we kept making them cry. Still, I like a challenge
