I can just imagine a hell of a lot of lawsuits starting because of this.

Yeah, I thought about that too. But the thing is, no one would win because all birth control suggests using back up methods anyway. Plus, not all birth control is 100% effective anyway.

It could also get messy because then you would have to prove you were using it effectively (everyday, at the same time).

I agree that they are not 100% effective. It's the fact that in the making of the pills, there was a massive f***-up. That falls to the company(s) making the pill. Anyone using birth control knows...well really SHOULD know...it's never 100%, but when something happens that the consumer has no control over, those responsible need to be prepared for the backlash.

After some research (why don't they simply name the pills being recalled?) I think I'm in the clear.

How awful for some of those people who ended up pregnant because of this.

I know. I can only imagine emotionally, what some of the women are going to go through if any of them end up pregnant.

Since you mentioned this, were you on any other meds at the time, that might have effected your birth control? If you don't want to answer, no worries.

Well, speaking from personal experience, it's a shocker obviously.
Went into the hospital for my gallbladder only to find out I'm pregnant.

Yeah, actually. Around the time I got pregnant I took half an antibiotic. My mom forced me to because she knew I was getting bronchitis. The reason i took half was because amoxycillin gives me really bad yeast infections (TMI, sorry). The other halves she gave me I never actually took.
So moral of the story, even if you take half an antibiotic, use a back up.

I feel kinda stupid for Eric and I not even thinking about it, but you know, is what it is. The only reason it seems weird is because I had been on antibiotics before and I hadn't gotten pregnant. Oh well. First time for everything.
My mom actually feels guilty for making me take the amoxycillin. She said: "Omg, this is my fault, isn't it?"

Ahh, OK.

It's one of those "Crap! Why didn't I think of that!" moments. Been there, not with the same type of situation, but I understand. I was thinking that if you were taking anything that had Tetracycline in it, since it can make birth control pills less effective.

You're poor mom. In a joking manner...later down the road...you can use that as a playful 'guilt trip'.
