Bristol-Myers Squibb accidentally killed a crab-eating macaque
this past summer when its cage was run through the wash cycle while the primate remained locked inside, according to an inspection report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

PENNINGTON — They forgot to take the monkey out of the cage.

How the f*** does someone forget to remove the monkey first? Especially with the noise they make?
Somebody is lieing.

Poor monkey.

Terrible. However this has nothing to do with animal rights, as it wasn't done on purpose. And don't give the, "But it wouldn't have happened if they were in there in the first place" bulls***. A lot of accidents wouldn't have happened if certain things weren't situational around them. Should we all stop driving cars?

Makes you wonder if it was really an accident or if they were trying to cover up certain kind of testing that was not regulated by USDA. They boiled the monkey to cover up a conspiracy.

Animal rights is against animal use - this is a form of animal use, so therefore this is an AR issue.

Moreover, in deeply speciesist societies, animals other than human animals are regarded as property and "lesser-than" beings, therefore this kind of neglect may be expected because animal life is so inconsequential.

Could be, and good points if it is, but truth based on speculation at best, of course. Either way, it wasn't purposeful, which is my point. But that is not downplaying the tragedy.

If I did the same thing at home to my puppy or my kitten the RSPCA would have me charged with animal abuse. Not only did the animal have to go through torture being experimented on he also meant so very very little that he could just be placed into a hot washing machine to die an unimaginable death. That people can joke about this saddens me deeply
