We have lots of threads here that talk about music and movies and such...but not so many that talk about books. As resident English teacher, this makes me sad. I love to read. LOVE it. And I'm always looking for new books to read. So, I thought maybe we could start a thread in which we share our favorite books, or ask for books in a certain genre. I'm always open to reading new things, and I'm always happy to share my own list of books.

I have a nook tablet, which I absolutely love, and it has almost 300 books on it. So you could say I love reading, yes indeedy.

I just started reading the Mortal Devices series by Cassandra Clare (Young Adult Literature) and those are fantastic. Before that I read the Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins...another fantastic read.

I generally tend to love Sci-Fi and Fantasy literature, and I don't discriminate between Young Adult and Adult fiction. So feel free to list what you're reading and whether you like it here. Or, if you have something to recommend, you can do that here too!

Happy Reading!

I read Gulliver's Travels a bit ago, and it was great. It'll be one of them that gets at least a second read.

I'm currently reading How to Leave Twitter by Grace Dent, it's a lot funnier than you'd have thought.

The Hunger Games and Game of Thrones are both on my list of books to read though, once they come down in price a bit.

My favourite book though is Jane Eyre.

Game of Thrones is awesomeeeee!

And I've always loved Jane Eyre...except for one class in college where we had to write 5 essays about it...

'Farnham's Freehold' by Robert Heinlein is one of my favorites. Easy reading, intertaining, and thought provoking.

Of course you can't leave out Victor Hugo's 'Les Miserables'.

'Evita: The Real Life of Eva Peron' by Nicholas Fraser,

'Anthem'and 'Atlas Shrugged' by Ayn Rand

'Don't Knock the Corners Off' by Caroline Glyn, read this when I was around 15.

I have so many favourite books, it's hard to chose. Misery by Stephen King is a really good book. The Well by Peter Labrow is also good.

Franny and Zooey and then Raise High the Roofbeam, Carpenters.

The dialogue in the latter is phenomenal.

What are the odds ?
I am reading this book now.
I was wondering around a fair sized second hand store few weeks ago and came across a very well cared for and in good shape ,copy of Gulliver's Travels published by 'The Spencer Press' in 1937 . I'm a nut for classics and antiquities .
