Saint Patrick was an engineer. He invented the electric light, so engineers could study all night. He invented the calculus, so engineers could learn to cuss. He invented the davenport, so engineers could have indoor sport. He was a ramblin-wreck of an engineer.

According the legend, Saint Patrick learned about engineering from Imh O'Tep, the civil engineer, who also dabbled in health care before he left Ireland. Saint Patrick had this green leg, and he wondered if Dr O'Tep could fix it. Seems that the leg had a bit of the gangrene, it did; but with a little bit of the blessed holy water, the doctor put it right. And they both thanked the Lord for the color.

Sometime later, Imh O'Tep went Memphis, and according the William Faulkner, he switched to civil engineering; and he built a race track, which Faulkner used as a setting in one of his novels.

So has anyone here decided to become a civil engineer?
