E.I. For a leave of absence?

I didn't know exactly where to put this. Anyway, I'm thinking of going back to school, where I can go in the afternoon for the first semester, and full time the second, while taking a leave of absence from work so I don't lose my job.

Does anyone know if I'm able to collect EI while on a leave of absence? Remember - I am in CANADA!! Thanks.

If you were taking a stress leave with a doctors note, then maybe you would get paid. I am guessing though.

Yeah I looked there and it didn't say anything about education.. I'll go to the doctor and tell him I'm too stressed to work and do school and I need EI for bills

Seriously though. That will work.
You are too stressed doing what you do now. You don't want to go on welfare, so you need stress leave and will go back to school so you can change careers and be stress free!

I would call and just inquire first without giving your personal info. Ask them if they provide EI without the whole stress leave thing, maybe they do. Good luck.
